Description
The White Hart Inn is a public house dating to the late 17th or early 18th century, with a refacing in 1747. The front facade is stuccoed, and the building has a steeply pitched hipped slate roof extending to a parapet at the front and to the eaves at the rear. It is arranged over two storeys and seven bays. A projecting three-bay Doric porch features a central square-headed entrance, architraved, with a balustraded parapet. The windows are square-headed, sashed, and have plate glass. The central three bays are more closely spaced and set slightly forward. A cornice sits above the first floor, and there is a balustraded parapet. Tall slab chimneys are a notable feature. The rear elevation is of architectural interest and constructed of plum brick with flush-framed windows.
The building is described in London 2: South by Cherry and Pevsner.
