Description

The drinking fountain and horse trough, located on Cricket Green in Mitcham, dates from the late 19th century. It features a rectangular granite horse trough with a chamfered base supported by two granite supports. One end of the trough has an ogee-shaped granite gable with a semi-circular bowl attached. There is an inscription on the roadside that reads "Metropolitan drinking fountain cattle trough association." Below the trough, there is a dog trough and two domed curbing stones.
