Description

Nos 37 and 37A on King William Walk, dating from around 1840, are three-storey buildings with two windows on the front and a two-window return to College Approach. They feature a rounded rebated angle, rusticated pilasters that support a cornice and parapet, with flat pilasters topped by domed finials. There is a cill band on the second floor. The second-floor sash windows have moulded architraves and glazing bars, while the first floor has three grouped round-arched windows with flat surrounds, keystones, impost blocks, and a bracketed common cill. The mid-19th century ground floor shop front has new glazing but retains its bracketed cornice. The buildings include a four-panel door at the angle and a six-panel door on the left, both with plain rectangular fanlights. On the College Approach return, there are plain reveals to sash windows with glazing bars and a shaped, raised panel between the windows. Nos 33 to 37A form a group, and Nos 37 and 37A also form a group with the listed buildings on the south side of College Approach.
