Description
Number 22 College Approach, built around 1840, is a three-storey building with a single bay facing College Approach and a west return to Greenwich Church Street, featuring a rounded angle between the two. The exterior is finished in stucco, with a cornice and parapet at the top. The angle of the building is slightly rebated. It has a cill band on the second floor, a banded rusticated ground floor, and a plain plinth. The windows are three-light sashes with glazing bars, with the second-floor window set in a plain reveal. The first-floor window features a moulded architrave, cornice, and pediment. The ground floor has a segment-headed shop window with rustications that form the voussoirs of the arch. There is a replaced glazed door at the angle. The west return has two windows, a cornice band, and a parapet, with moulded architraves on the sash windows, although the right bay windows are blocked. On the left, there is a modern door with a plain fanlight set in a round arched recess. The ground floor has a modern shop that is positioned between original rusticated pilasters. This building is part of a group of listed buildings on the north side of College Approach, which includes No 38 King William Walk.
