Description
Nos 2 to 5 College Approach is a terrace built in 1836, part of the Market composition. The buildings are three storeys high with a cellar and feature two windows each. They are constructed of stucco and are separated by pilasters that support an entablature and blocking course. The ground floor has a banded rusticated design. There is a cill band on the second floor. The sash windows, which have glazing bars and are mostly replaced, are set in plain reveals on the second floor and have moulded architraves on the first floor, where the windows are long. The ground floor windows have plain reveals. No 5 has a plain shop window that is no longer in commercial use. Each building has a four-panel door with a cornice head and a rectangular fanlight, while No 4 has two upper panels that are glazed. The listed buildings on the south side of College Approach form a group with Nos 37 and 37A King William Walk.
