Description

15 North Square is a Grade II* listed building designed by architect Edwin Lutyens. It is part of a continuous range of two-storey buildings with dormers, constructed from the usual bricks.

No 9 features three window bays, with a central door framed by an architrave and a cornice supported by consoles. It has a sundial in the fanlight, dated 1920, and a frieze block above that reads: "Let others tell of storms and showers I'll only count your sunny hours." The attic storey matches that of No 8, located at the opposite corner of Erskine Hill, and there is a return elevation to Erskine Hill.

No 10 also has three window bays, with a central door featuring an eared architrave and a pulvinated frieze. It includes a pair of canted bay windows on either side and two dormers. No 11 has a five-window bay front that is recessed three feet behind the general building line. Of its first-floor windows, two have cambered heads, while three have both cambered heads and sills. The central door has a broad cornice hood supported by cut brackets, and there are three dormers.

No 12 is similar to No 10. No 15 resembles No 9 but lacks the sundial and inscription.
