Description

The Henrietta Barnett Memorial is located in Central Square, Hampstead Garden Suburb, and was established in memory of Dame Henrietta Barnett, who lived from 1851 to 1936 and was the founder and inspirer of this suburb. The memorial features an inscribed block of Portland Stone topped with a laurel wreath. It is sheltered by a canopy made of bronze arches that support a central lantern, with the arches springing from four additional Portland Stone blocks. The inscription reads, "In fond memory of Dame Henrietta Barnett DBE 1851-1936, Founder and inspirer of this suburb."
