Description

Nos 1 and 2 South Square is a building designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, dating from the early 20th century. It is two storeys high and constructed with buff bricks, featuring red brick dressings. The building has a recessed center with six window bays and projecting balanced wings, each containing a two-storey canted bay window. The doorcases are adorned with cornices supported by console brackets. Notably, Dame Henrietta Barnett lived at No 1 from 1915 to 1936, as indicated by a plaque.
