Description

Nos 10 and 12 Erskine Hill are a pair of houses built in the 19th century, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. The buildings are constructed of grey brick with red brick detailing around the windows and doorheads. They form one unit, connected to Nos 8 and 14 by flat-roofed entrance screens. The houses have six window bays. The main entrances are located in bays one and six, set within a projecting section. The door surrounds match those of Nos 4, 6, and 8. Bays 2 to 5 have a closely-set arrangement of four sash windows on each floor. Four hipped dormers light the roof, and projecting brick aprons are situated below the first-floor windows. Three chimney stacks are symmetrically placed. A moulded wooden cornice runs around the projecting parts of the building. The façade is recessed behind the buildings at Nos 2-8 and No 14 and one side of the building presents two windows looking over the forecourts of Nos 10 and 12.
