Description
The police public call box, located to the northeast of the American Embassy in Grosvenor Square, Westminster, dates from around 1935 or earlier. It is made of cast iron and features a narrow rectangular post with an arched top, which is topped by a circular glass lens set in a four-columned finial. The call box has a hinged door that leads to a compartment containing a telephone, although the glass front has been replaced. Above the door, there is a panel displaying the words 'Police Public Call Post'.
