Description
Number 23, along with its screen wall, is part of Number 61 Green Street and dates from the 18th century, having been remodeled in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of stock brick, with stucco applied to the garden side, and features slate roofs. It is a two and three-storey range that is four windows wide on the left, which continues with the screen wall. The ground floors have 20th-century garage doors, but an early 19th-century doorway with a lunette fanlight remains on the left. The upper floors are fitted with recessed glazing bar sash windows. The building has parapets with copings. The screen wall includes a plain gateway and is adorned on the garden side, facing Number 61, by a pair of stuccoed quadrant pavilions that flank this axis, featuring blind windows and a band cornice at the parapets.
