Description

This is a terraced house located on Upper Brook Street, dating to 1730, with alterations made in the early 19th century and early 20th century. The house is constructed of multi-coloured stock brick with a slate roof, and extends over three storeys with an early 19th-century attic floor and a basement. It is three windows wide. The right-hand entrance features a semicircular arched opening with a stucco architrave, a six-panel door, and a radial-pattern fanlight. The windows are recessed sash windows. The windows on the second floor retain their original glazing bars and exposed boxing, with red brick dressings and flat, gauged red brick arches. A red brick plat band is present to the first floor. A circa 18th-century lead rainwater head sits between numbers 52 and 53. Cast iron area railings are fitted with pineapple finials. The interior retains the original layout but displays early 20th-century decorative features.
