Description

The police public callbox located outside St. Botolph Aldgate Church dates from around 1935 or earlier. It is made of cast iron and has a narrow rectangular post with an arched head. At the top, there is a circular glass lens mounted in a four-columned finial. The callbox features a hinged door that leads to a compartment containing a telephone, which has a glass front that has been replaced. Above the door, there is a panel with the words "Police public call post."
