Description
This is a police public callbox located at the corner of Friday Street and Queen Victoria Street, dating from around 1935 or earlier. It is made of cast iron and features a narrow rectangular post with an arched head. At the top, there is a circular glass lens set within a four-columned finial. The callbox has a hinged door that leads to a compartment containing a telephone, which has a glass front that has been replaced. Above the door, there is a panel that reads "Police public call post."
