Description
This is a pair of semi-detached houses located at 44 Abbey Road, dating from around 1840. They are constructed of stucco and consist of two storeys and a basement, with an additional storey on the inner bay of each house, which features a pediment. Each house is two windows wide, with recessed porches on the right and left. The inner bay of each house is framed by Ionic pilasters, and there is a pilaster between the two houses. The windows are square-headed sashed with glazing bars, while the ground floor windows of No 29 have pilastered surrounds, although the surrounds on the other house are simplified. There are cast iron balconies on the ground floor.
