Description

This detached house, located at 25 Blenheim Road, London NW8, dates from approximately 1840 to 1850. It is constructed of grey brick with stucco dressings, and has a hidden roof. The house is two storeys high with a basement. It features two window bays across the front. A pilastered, stucco porch projects to the left, featuring a segmental entrance and a panelled door. The windows are square-headed and have architraves, with a tripartite arrangement in the right-hand bay. They are sash windows with plate glass, some of which include margin glazing. A moulded band runs between the storeys, projecting to form a cornice above the ground floor windows. A cast iron window guard is present. As part of an unusually consistent group of similar houses, this property contributes to the area’s architectural character.
