Description

This detached house at 27 Blenheim Road dates from approximately 1840-1850. It is constructed of grey brick with stucco dressings, and has a hidden roof. The house is two storeys high and includes a basement. It has a two-window front. A pilastered, stucco porch projects to the left, featuring a segmental entrance with a later replacement door. The windows are square-headed, with architraves; the right-hand bay has a tripartite window arrangement. The windows are sash windows, with plate glass. The upper window on the left has margin glazing. A moulded band runs between the storeys, breaking forward into a cornice above the ground floor windows. A cast iron window guard is present. The house forms part of a remarkably consistent series of similar properties.
