Description
Number 24 and its front garden wall date from the mid-19th century. The building is a villa constructed of yellow-brown brick with stucco dressings. It is two storeys high with a basement, featuring a gabled bay to the left, an attic, and two bays to the right. A further gabled wing is recessed to the left, with a later glazed addition in the angle. A flight of steps leads to a porch with angle pilasters containing double doors and an overlight. The porch has a decorative frieze and cornice, as does the gabled bay and the angle pilasters of the ground floor. The windows on the right-hand side are sash windows with glazing bars to the upper sashes, set under flat gauged brick arches. A first-floor band runs along the facade. First-floor windows are sash windows in architraves, resting on consoles. An eaves band and brackets support the overhanging roof. The pedimented gable above contains a tripartite stepped window with a round-arched central light. The front garden is enclosed by a stucco balustraded wall with gate piers. The building is included in the listing primarily for its contribution to the group value of the area.
