Description

Nos 17 and 18 on Blomfield Road are a pair of mid-19th century houses. They are built from yellow-brown brick with stucco dressings and feature two storeys and a basement. The design is asymmetrical, consisting of two bays with a further gabled projecting bay to the right and recessed entrance bays on each side. The houses have panelled doors with overlights set in stucco surrounds, although No 18 has a later alteration with a recessed door. The windows on the first floor are mullion and transom types, also in stucco surrounds, with a first floor band. The first floor windows have chamfered mullions in stucco surrounds. There is a moulded band at the eaves and gable, decorated with 'bosses', and a parapet with a finial on the gable. The roof is covered in fish scale tiles with gable coping. These houses are included for their group value.
