Description

No. 40B is a terrace house located on Greek Street in the City of Westminster. It was likely rebuilt around 1740, with some later alterations. The building is constructed of painted brick and has a slate roof. It stands four storeys tall and is two windows wide. The ground floor features a mid-20th century shop front, while the upper floors have recessed glazing bar sash windows set beneath flat stucco arches. There is a stuccoed plat band above the second floor, and the building is topped with a parapet that includes a cornice and blocking course. The interior has been altered, but some sections of cornice and part of the closed string staircase remain intact.
