Description
No. 8 Greek Street is a terrace house built in 1731, which was refronted in the late 18th century or early 19th century and underwent alterations in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of stock brick and has a concealed roof. It stands four storeys high and is two windows wide. The ground floor features an early 20th-century shop front with a fascia, while the upper floors have recessed sash windows set within mid-19th-century stucco architraves. The building is topped with a parapet that has coping. Despite the alterations, the interior retains a dog leg closed string staircase with turned balusters and column newels, which is partly boxed in. Additionally, there is a fully panelled rear room on the first floor that includes a box cornice.
