Description
No. 6 Greek Street is a terrace house built in 1731, with the front rebuilt in the late 19th century. It features painted red brick and a slate roof, standing four storeys tall with a basement and three windows across the front. The ground floor has been altered, while the upper floors have recessed sashes, most of which include glazing bars and are set under moulded segmental arches. There are cornices above the ground floor and at the parapet.
Inside, the house retains a complete dog leg staircase with carved cut strings, turned and twisted balusters, and column newels, featuring a volute scroll at the foot. Above the first floor, the staircase has closed strings and turned balusters, and the staircase compartment is fully panelled up to the second floor. The second floor room has nearly intact sunk panelling, box cornices, and stone chimneypieces in the ground and second floor rear rooms.
