Description

TQ 2981 SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER GREEK STREET, W1 58/38 23.11.78 No. 6 - II Terrace house. 1731, the front rebuilt late C19. Painted red brick, slate roof. 4 storeys and basement. 3 windows wide. Altered ground floor. Recessed sashes to upper floors, most with glazing bars under moulded segmental arches. Cornices over ground floor and to parapet. Interior retains complete dog leg staircase with carved cut strings, turned and twisted balusters, column newels, volute scroll to foot; above 1st floor closed strings and turned balusters; staircase compartment fully panelled up to 2nd floor; 2nd floor room has virtually intact sunk panelling, box cornices, stone chimneypieces in ground and 2nd floor rear rooms, etc. Survey of London; Vol. XXXIII.
