Description

TQ 2981 SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER ROMILLY STREET, W1 58/80 23.11.78 No. 34 GV II Terrace house. Early C18 possibly incorporating C17 fabric. Painted brick, concealed roof. 2 windows wide. Altered ground floor. Upper floors have later stucco architraved windows with casement lights. Sill band to 1st floor and parapet with coping. Original interior features include dog leg staircase, closed string with turned balusters boxed in on lower flights and the bottom one apparently having unusual feature of balustrading in place of the usual panelled dado against the compartment wall; etc. Survey of London; Vol. XXXIII.
