Description
No. 34 Romilly Street is a terrace house dating from the early 18th century, possibly incorporating some 17th-century elements. The building is constructed of painted brick and has a concealed roof. It is two windows wide, with alterations made to the ground floor. The upper floors feature later stucco architraved windows with casement lights, a sill band at the first floor, and a parapet with coping. Inside, original features include a dog leg staircase with a closed string and turned balusters, which are boxed in on the lower flights. Notably, the bottom flight has balustrading instead of the usual panelled dado against the compartment wall.
