Description
Nos. 1 and 2 Marlborough Court are terrace houses built around 1820. They are constructed of stock brick and feature a slate roof, rising to four storeys. Each house has a wide window on the front. The ground floor includes shop fronts with thin plaster frames and entablatures, with No. 1 still having a fielded panel house door. The upper floors are characterized by large recessed sash windows, which retain their glazing bars except on the top floor, and are set under flat gauged arches. The buildings have a parapet with coping and are part of the redevelopment of Carnaby Street and Newburgh Street from around 1820.
