Description
No. 2 Lowndes Court is a terrace house built around 1820, likely featuring a refronting of earlier 18th-century fabric. The building is constructed of stock brick and has a concealed roof. It stands four storeys tall with a basement and is two windows wide. The ground floor showcases an early to mid-19th-century shop front framed by stucco pilasters and an entablature, with an altered square-headed doorway to the right and mid-20th-century semicircular arched display windows. The upper floors feature recessed sash windows without glazing bars, set within stucco surrounds. A stucco parapet completes the design. This house is part of the redevelopment of Carnaby Street and Newburgh Street that occurred around 1820.
