Description
12A Newburgh Street is a terrace house with a shop, built around 1820, likely incorporating some early 18th century elements, and featuring early to mid 19th century alterations. The building is constructed of stock brick and stucco and stands four storeys tall, with a width of two windows. The shop front is adorned with stucco pilasters and an entablature, featuring an egg and dart cornice at the ground floor. It includes a square-headed house door with six panels and a fanlight, although the shop door and display window have been altered. The upper floors feature recessed glazing bar sashes set within stucco architraves that have segmental heads and bracketed sills. The building has a stucco parapet and is contemporary with the redevelopment of Carnaby Street around 1820.
