Description
No. 11 Newburgh Street is a terrace house with an original shop, dating from around 1820. It is built of stock brick and has a slate roof, rising to four storeys and measuring two windows wide. The ground floor features a shop front with wooden pilasters and a dentil cornice entablature, which includes square-headed doorways for both the house and shop on the right, each with fanlights. The house door is a six-panel design, while the shop door is panelled and glazed. The upper floors are adorned with recessed glazing bar sashes set beneath segmental arches. The building has a parapet with coping. This property was part of a redevelopment that coincided with the development of Carnaby Street around 1820.
