Description
Nos. 28, 28A, and 29 Carnaby Street are terrace houses with shops, built around 1820 as a corner block. The buildings are constructed of stock brick, some of which has been renewed, and feature slate roofs. They rise to four storeys, with each front having two windows. The corner is slightly recessed and rounded. The ground floor shops were altered in the mid-20th century but still retain a common entablature with egg and dart moulding along the cornice. The upper floors have recessed glazing bar sash windows set under flat gauged red brick arches, except for No. 28, which has flat stucco surrounds. A parapet with coping crowns the structure. These buildings are part of the redevelopment of Carnaby Street and Newburgh Street around 1820.
