Description
Nos 23 to 26 Princes Square are a row of terraced houses built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of stucco and feature four storeys, an attic, and a basement, with each house being two windows wide. The ground floor has channelling, and there are projecting Doric porches. Above the ground floor, each house has a convex facade, and the first floor features a continuous cast iron bombé balcony. The windows on the ground and third floors are square-headed, while the first floor windows have rounded upper corners and are corniced and pilastered. The attic windows are segmental-headed. The houses have sash windows with glazing bars and architraves, and there is a rich dentil cornice above the third floor, along with a subsidiary cornice at the attic level. Cast iron area railings are present, and these houses are an integral part of the planned scheme for Princes Square.
