Description

30 Henrietta Street is a building in the City of Westminster, constructed around 1890, which includes a gateway leading to St. Paul's Churchyard. The gateway itself dates back to around 1730, with gates from 1714-15. The building is made of red brick with stone detailing and has a slate roof.

It stands four storeys high and is three windows wide. The ground floor was altered in the mid-20th century, except for the entrance bay to the left, which features channelled stucco and a large architrave gateway with a pulvinated frieze and deep cornice, framing a fine wrought iron gate that leads to the passageway. The upper floors, added in the 1890 elevation, have recessed sash windows under gauged flat arches on the centre and right, while the left side features a two-storey canted bay window. There are string courses and a cornice with a parapet, along with a wrought iron balcony across the first floor. The building is listed primarily for its churchyard entrance.

Additionally, there is a wall-mounted, 18-inch Windsor gas lantern on the rear elevation, hung on a wrought iron bracket above the entrance to St. Paul's Churchyard.
