Description

The Punch Bowl Public House is a public house built around 1750, with some alterations. It features a stuccoed brick exterior and a gambrel roof that is partly covered with pantiles and partly with plain tiles. The building has three storeys plus dormers and is arranged in three bays. The ground floor has two right-hand bays that are advanced, showcasing a mid-19th century pilastered pub front. The windows are square-headed with plate glass sashes. There is a stucco band at the level of the second-floor sills, and a parapet displays the words 'The Punch Bowl' impressed in a stucco frieze below two square-headed dormers. Inside, the pub retains a dog leg closed string staircase with turned balusters, dado panelling, door architraves, corner fireplaces in the rear rooms, and a cornice in the first-floor rear room.
