Description

TQ 2881 NW CITY OF WESTMINSTER GEORGE STREET, Wl 44/55 (north side) 14.1.70 No. 24 G.V. II Terraced house, c.1780-1800 Portman Estate development. Stock brick with channelled stucco ground floor; concealed slate roof. 4 storeys and basement. 2 windows wide. Semicircular arched doorway to left, panelled door and radial patterned fanlight in panelled reveals and soffit, keystone with head to arch. Recessed sashes, glazing bars intact to upper floors; ground floor windows have vermiculated keystones to flat arches; upper floor sashes have gauged flat arches. Plat band finishes off stuccowork at 1st floor level. Parapet with stone coping. Wrought iron balconettes to 1st floor. Cast iron area railings with spearhead finials.
