Description
No. 74 Brook Street is a terrace house built in 1725 and altered in the early 19th century. It has four storeys, a basement, and a slated mansard attic with dormers. The façade features three windows and decorative plat bands, including a guilloche pattern on the second floor. There is a main cornice at the third floor level and a moulded cornice on the parapet, topped with coping. An early 19th-century continuous cast iron balcony adorns the first floor. The entrance is an early 19th-century round-headed doorway with sidelights and an ornamental radial glazed fanlight. The windows are revealed glazing bar sashes, with those on the ground floor fitted with sliding louvred shutters. The property also has area railings with urn finials.
