Description
Number 27 in Three Kings Yard is a mews and garden building dating from the early 18th century, around 1725, with alterations made around 1811 and a rebuild of the Three Kings Yard elevation in the early to mid-20th century. The building is constructed of stock brick and has a slate roof. It stands two storeys high with a basement. The rear elevation, which faces the garden of 65 Brook Street, features three windows, a central doorway with a semicircular radial glazed fanlight, and revealed glazing bar sash windows beneath flat gauged arches. The parapet has coping, and there are cast iron area railings with spear heads and urn finials. The front facing Three Kings Yard includes glass brick windows and garage doors. Inside, the rear ground floor room retains a box cornice and one wall of fielded panelling from the early 18th century. This building is noted for its historical interest as an early mews house.
