Description
No. 34 Upper Brook Street is a terraced town house built in 1756, with early 19th century and early 20th century alterations. The building features a stucco facade that is completely channelled and has a slate roof. It stands four storeys high, including a basement and an attic storey, and is two windows wide.
The original stone doorcase is located on the left and includes an architrave and a cornice-hood supported by consoles, along with a six-panel door and a radial glazed fanlight. The ground, second, and attic floors have recessed glazing bar sashes, while the first floor has 20th century French casements. There is a string course at the first floor level, a plain modillion cornice above the second floor, and a cornice with a blocking course at the attic level.
The first floor features early to mid 20th century ironwork on the balconettes, and there are cast iron area railings topped with urn finials. Although the interior has been altered, it still retains a central staircase.
