Description

There are 27 lamp-posts lining both sides of Birdcage Walk in the City of Westminster. These lamp-posts date from the early to mid 19th century and are made of cast iron. They feature reeded battered bases leading to octagonal shafts topped with tulip heads. Some of the lamp-posts have a Victorian octagonal extension and are fitted with Nico lanterns. A number of the lamp-posts are monogrammed with the initials of George IV and William IV.
