Description

The Boy Fountain, located north of the junction of Birdcage Walk and Queen Anne's Gate in St James's Park, is a sculptured drinking fountain dating from 1863. It features a marble figure of a boy, designed by C. H. Mabey, standing atop a granite base. The base is decorated with carved marble panels that include scallop shell water bowls, which were added by R. Jackson in 1865. The fountain is monogrammed with "V.R. 1863" and was erected by the Office of Works.
