Description
No. 27 Dover Street is a terrace house built in the late 18th century, similar in style to No. 26. It features a stock brick exterior and a slate roof. The building has three original storeys and a basement, along with two additional storeys and a dormered attic. There are three windows with renewed glazing bar sashes set under flat gauged arches. The first floor has French casements that open onto an early 19th-century balcony with a diamond pattern made of cast iron. A Corinthian columned porch, added around 1840 to 1850, leads to the original round-headed doorway, which includes sidelights and a fanlight framed by a panelled pilaster strip. The property is also enclosed by heavy cast iron area railings from the late 19th century.
