Description
No 16 Albemarle Street is a terrace house built in the late 18th century and has been altered. It features a stucco exterior and a slate roof, standing four storeys tall and four windows wide. The ground floor has been modified for a mid-20th century shop front but still has a doorway to the right with concave reveals and a semi-circular fanlight. The upper floors showcase revealed sash windows without glazing bars and flat arches. The building is topped with a cornice and a blocking course. Inside, the entrance hall displays impressive decorative plasterwork on the barrel vault with pendentives, a stone staircase with a wrought iron balustrade, and the first-floor drawing room features doorcases and decorative plasterwork on the ceiling. This property is included for its group interest.
