Description
No. 49 Albemarle Street is a terrace house built in the early 18th century and altered in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick with stucco dressing and features a slate roof. The building has four storeys and an attic, with a width of three windows. The ground floor has mid-20th century shop fronts. The upper floors display 19th-century revealed sash windows without glazing bars, set in original camber arched openings that include keystones. Rusticated pilasters run through the storeys, topped with Baroque stone-carved capitals. The building also features string courses and a main entablature with a frieze and modillion cornice. The cornice and attic are shared with the adjoining No. 50.
