Description
No 5 Albemarle Street is a terraced town house built in 1765. It features an ashlar facade and a slate roof, standing three storeys high with a basement. The building is three windows wide, with a rusticated ground floor that has semi-circular arched openings. The right opening contains a doorway framed by pilasters and topped with a cornice hood. The revealed sash windows have no glazing bars and are surrounded by architraves. The first-floor windows are adorned with pulvinated friezes and cornices, while the central window features a pediment supported by consoles. There is a first-floor plat band, a bracketed cornice, and a balustraded parapet. The wrought iron area railings include a pair of wrought iron lampholders. Inside, the entrance hall showcases fluted Corinthian pilasters, an enriched frieze and cornice, and a cut string stone staircase with a wrought iron balustrade, although the interior has been otherwise altered.
