Description

These are a pair of houses, numbers 77 and 79, built around 1840 on Falcon Road. The two-storey houses with basements are four bays wide, with the central bays projecting forward and featuring Ionic porches that almost fill the angle where they meet the recessed side bays. The front of the houses is stuccoed, while the side elevations are of yellow brick. The roof is hipped and slate-covered, with a pair of dormers positioned centrally over the party wall, their fronts stuccoed and the sides covered in slate. The ground-floor windows extend the full width and consist of four-light mullion and transom windows, screened by cast-iron verandahs with tented roofs. The first-floor windows are round-headed sash windows framed by architraves with key blocks; they are three-light in the projecting bays and single-light in the outer bays. The dormer windows are round-headed sashes as well. A central chimney stack is also present.
