Description
Virginia Primary School, built in 1899, is located in the Boundary Estate. It is constructed of yellow stock brick with red brick dressings and features a slate roof. The building has three storeys, with the central portion displaying ten paired sash windows that include additional top lights. The flanking wings are topped with coped gables, each containing two pairs of windows. There are string courses at the sill heights, and the paired windows are separated by red brick buttresses with stone caps. The rear facade facing Virginia Street has a gabled design with an off-center tower topped by a hipped roof and a finial.
The Boundary Estate is recognized as an early London County Council estate, notable for its advanced design for the time.
