Description
Nos 6 and 8 Folgate Street are early 19th-century terrace houses constructed of stock brick. They rise three storeys with a basement and feature two windows each. The second-floor windows have gauged flat arches, while the first-floor windows are rectangular sashes set in round-headed recessed arches. All sash windows include glazing bars, except for the later round-headed sash windows on the ground floor, which lack glazing bars. A plain band course runs at the sill level of the first floor. The doorways have shallow arches with fanlights, and the doorway of No 6 is adorned with decorative ironwork and panelled pilasters. These houses are part of a group that includes the road surface of Folgate Street, Nos 5 to 11 (odd), 11A, Nos 17 to 21 (odd), No 27, and Nos 6 to 18 (even).
