Description
The railings at Nos 32 and 34 Elder Street date from around 1720 and are part of a three-storey building with a basement. The façade features three windows for No 32 and five for No 34, with one blank window in the centre of the top storey of No 34. The structure is made of brown brick with red brick dressings and has a parapet. The windows are set in segmental arches and have double hung sashes in flush frames with glazing bars. The entrance to No 32 has a round-headed doorway with a stucco surround and a fanlight, while No 34 has a doorcase with plain pilasters, a dentilled cornice, and a pediment, along with two windows to the right of the central entrance and a wood-framed door opening on the left. Both houses are fronted by wrought iron railings topped with pineapple finials. The road surface of Elder Street, along with Nos 1 to 23 (odd) and Nos 24 to 36 (even), forms a group with Nos 9 and 10 and the road surface of Fleur de Lys Street.
