Description
19 and 21 Elder Street are two buildings dating from around 1720. They are constructed of brown brick and stand three storeys tall, with a basement and dormers. Each building features three windows, with a tiled roof above. The windows have red segmental arches with fluted keys and are double hung sashes set in flush frames with glazing bars; two of the windows are blank. The stone cills are supported by brackets, and there is a parapet along the top.
The entrance to No 21 has a simple wooden doorcase with an architrave and shallow brackets, while No 19 features a plain stucco doorcase with a round-headed arch, a flat cornice above, and an architrave surround for the doors.
The road surface of Elder Street, along with Nos 1 to 23 (odd) and Nos 24 to 36 (even), forms a group with Nos 9 and 10 and the road surface of Fleur de Lys Street.
