Description
Nos 10 to 18 on Folgate Street, built around 1724, are a row of buildings made from brown brick with red brick dressings. Number 18 features a painted facade. The buildings have a moulded brick cornice above the second floor, except for number 14. They display segmental arches over flush frame windows, most of which have glazing bars. The first floor frames of number 18 are decorated with a trellis pattern. Number 10 features a wooden doorcase with Doric rusticated pilasters, while number 14 has a stucco door surround with architraves and a cornice supported by console brackets. Number 13 has a round arched stucco door surround with a key and a recessed entrance with a fanlight. Numbers 10, 12, and 14 include shop fronts, although number 14 has been derelict since 1971. The road surface of Folgate Street, along with numbers 5 to 11 (odd), 11A, 17 to 21 (odd), 27, and 6 to 18 (even), forms a cohesive group.
