Description

The forecourt wall and gate piers at The Central Foundation School for Girls date from the 19th century. The structure features a buttressed wall made of red and terra-cotta brick, adorned with geometric designs. There are two pairs of gate piers and a corner pier, all topped with stone caps and ball finials. A ceramic tablet embedded in the wall marks the site of the former Spital Pulpit Cross. The nearby No 37 and the street lamp standard are part of the group value context with the school’s buildings and walls.
