Description
This is a terrace of seven houses dating from the early 19th century, which have been altered over time. The buildings are constructed of yellow stock brick, with Nos 8-12 featuring rusticated stucco ground floors, while Nos 12 and 14 have rendered upper floors. The terrace consists of three storeys and basements, with two windows for each house except No. 14, which has one window. No. 16 has a two-window return to Bayham Street.
No. 4 has a round-arched doorway with a fanlight and a panelled door. No. 6 features a pointed Gothic doorway with double panelled doors, and No. 6A, which is part of No. 6, has a 20th-century goods entrance. Nos 8-12 have round-arched ground floor openings, with doorways that include fluted quarter columns supporting cornice-heads, radial patterned fanlights, and panelled doors. The windows are recessed sashes with margin lights. Nos 14 and 16 have 20th-century shopfronts. The upper floors have gauged brick flat arches over recessed sashes, with Nos 8 and 10 having first-floor casements and cast-iron balconies. Nos 14 and 16 feature 20th-century glazing and there are parapets on the buildings.
The interiors have not been inspected. Additionally, Nos 4 and 8-12 have attached cast-iron railings with urn finials.
