Description
Nos. 17 to 21 Gayfere Street is a terrace of "4th rate" artisans' houses built around 1800. The houses are constructed of stock brick and sit on a stucco plinth, with concealed roofs. They are two storeys high, with each front featuring two windows. The doorways are located to the left; they have semicircular arches, except for No. 21, which has a flat arch. The doors are panelled, and the fanlights are patterned, except for the one at No. 18. No. 17 has an inset bootscraper. The windows are recessed glazing bar sashes set under flat gauged arches, with stuccoed reveals. The terrace is topped with a tall parapet that has coping.
